1. Independent Atoms

   • Atoms of most elements cannot exist alone.

2. Formation of Molecules and Ions

   • Atoms combine to make molecules (by sharing electrons).

   • Atoms can also make ions (by losing or gaining electrons).

3. Matter Formation

   • These molecules or ions gather in large numbers.

   • Together, they form the matter which we can see, touch and feel.
